I believe it’s called “shamim’s” method? Does anyone use this method and if so what settings do you use for each one? Obviously in deck 1 I’ll need intervals that are short enough for me to see them frequently before the test, but as I move the cards from deck 1 to 2 and 3 I feel like I can stretch out the intervals? If I’m totally off base, would also love to know that too! I’ve talked to a couple people and they say when they just have everything in 1 deck it’s hard to focus on the upcoming test when there’s other material in there as frequently. I’ve seen that having a few different decks 1) for the upcoming test every 14 days, 2) for the final at the end of the block, and 3) for step studying. I’ve heard a couple ideas to keep the review cards manageable, as well as making sure I’m seeing the cards enough before tests. You find it really hard to remember big ideas even after using Anki. But, that is true if and only if you’re using it with respect to how your brain encodes information. You get buried in mountains of due reviews. As you may know, it IS possible to learn anything faster with Anki. But as it turns out, you still feel like there’s too much to learn and there’s too little time. So I’m matriculating to a medical school in July and my school has tests every 2 weeks, and then a final at the end of the block (not sure if this is similar to any one else’s schedule). So you’ve discovered Anki, believed that it will help you reduce your study time, and help you remember anything you want.
